My Foundation Choices

Hey all i'm a little behind on this...
As stated earlier, I'm a drugstore crawler. I am always on the search to find drugstore brands that perform on a quality level and hold up to their claims. Now mind you, I have oily skin... so these are my personal favorites, but if they work for you then great!

1. Black Radiance Powder

I've been a consumer of this brand for a while, not only because it was apart of the slim drugstore pickings for women of color, but because I'm a genuine fan. The price isn't bad and there is a lot of product for the chump change that you spend for it. The powder has a matte finish and helps get that even complexion that I desire. I usually buy this in the summer months though because it gives me a slightly red tint. I'm "dual-toned" thanks to my dad having golden undertones and my mother having red undertones. In the summer I'm more red and winter time I'm more yellow. Let me stop babbling and move on to the next...

2. Black Opal Loose Powder
I was and still am a fan of Black Opal's Invisible Oil Blotting Powder. It is my go to product so with so much success with their oil blotting powder I figured I would try their loose powders. This powder has a smooth and silky finish and is light to full coverage depending on how much you apply. I use this as a regular foundation instead of as a finishing powder because of the fact that my skin is so oily and also because I don't have many blemishes or drastic discolorations. Occasionally, I will use it in conjunction with the Black Radiance Powder to give my face a soft yet sculpted look.

3. Covergirl Natureluxe Liquid Silk Foundation

This is one of my more recent purchases and can I say that I'm impressed and in love with this foundation. It does indeed have the silky finish it promises and has a light to medium coverage. When I want an even lighter finish, I'll usually mix a ladybug size amount with my moisturizer. Though the products packaging looks too small for the ten dollars you'll spend on it, a little goes a long way. It matches my complexion very well ( I use shade 365 in Chestnut). It feels very nice on my skin as well i don't feel like my pores are clogging and it can breathe. But do note that if you have oily skin, it is best to follow up this product with a powder to set; this will also help lengthen the wear.

There will be many more foundation reviews, but I like to let my face have a rest and get a little air before I try another product on my face. So I'll be going sans makeup foundation for a little while, but there will be more posts to follow.

Thrift Finds

So things have been crazy/awesome for me. I got a job at Marriott and another interview at Dillard's for Estee Lauder today. I've also been busy with other things. So i have a massive thrift haul that i might split into three maybe four posts. These weren't really found at a thrift...my mom stopped at a yard sale and found these two wonderful pieces for me. The dress was $2.00 and the bracelet was $1.00. So good job mom!
