new things

i woke up early today with the urge to sew. that shocked me considering i didn't want to sew another thing for at least a good two weeks after finishing that prom dress in my previous post. but i remembered that i had over 3yrds of cheetah print stretch fabric from walmart for a rainy day. and today was well...rainy. my intentions were to make a high waist maxi skirt but i decided to make it versatile. i made the waist band large so i could double it over if i wanted the skirt and when i unfolded it, it became a strapless maxi dress! smart, right??

(please ignore my nasty floor and mirror on the left, i splashed curly creme on the mirror when i was putting it in my fro and the carpet... spring cleaning)

after that moped around the house a bit then headed to the old mall. went to claire's to look at the earrings. lookie what i found on clearance...AWESOME EARRINGS!!!

also.....

i cut my hair!
i'd been growing my hair for a year plus and finally did the big chop for my transition into au natural
i actually like it way more than my relaxed hair and love love LOVE the texture!
it's so fun to touch! :D
also because i was on this natural high i decided to do a "badu" wrap and surprisingly my head was very tempature regulated considering i had on a rag and two scarfs on my head!
here is my last day with my length before i took a pair of scissors and went psycho happy...jp bout the psycho part (also my mother almost cried at the sight of me chopping my hair)my hair has become a bit bigger since the chop but its fun to experiment with...
now i just need to find someone to trim and style it into a haircut that will look good pressed or curlly/fluffy lol

busy much!!!

so i didn't exactly launch my self into headbands and such but i have been crafty lately! good news tho, i was commissioned to make a prom dress and the girl was very happy with it and i hope she had a wonderful time at prom.

and i never knew the peace that is earring making; i've been shooting them out like yosemite sam with bullets.

also planning an art/ music show with friends. looking for a venue right now i think i have a solid list of artists and i think the name for the show is good... how does fruitstand hearts sound? i'll let y'all in on any new developments.

been away for quite a while my apologies....so i've made some decisions. the decisions i've made are apart of the process to learn and better myself. i know i'll never reach perfection but i think its important to try to live fully and content with myself. i started this journey a while ago but im far from finished. so here's the to do list:

• get better eating habits
  
• begin a more active lifestyle
• be constant in art and crafts
  
• go to makeup school and complete it

... so that's the list so far i don't wanna set up too many expectations and stress myself out. but i've started to ween myself off sweets and overloading on carbs because i am NOT a cold turkey person. first crafts projects are headbands and hair elastics. if there any updates i'll post.
