Hair

after finally buying thermal protectant spray i thought for sure that i'd immediately press my hair... naw, i ended up being a lazy ass. after letting it sit untouched for two days, i finally picked up the bottle and did the overwhelming task of pressing my hair. it turned out well, but humidity messed that up so i curled it in a hope that if it gets puffy again it'll at least look some what decent.

Ocmulgee Indian Celebration

Last weekend me and my mom went to the Ocmulgee Indian Celebration. Ocmulgee (aka. The Indian Mounds) is a national monument park we have in Macon no one really hears about but every year, the third weekend in September they have an Indian Celebration. Southeastern American Indian tribes come to the park to perform and give history and culture lessons. The tribes that are focused on the most are Cherokee, Choctaw, Chickasaw, Creek, and Seminole. Guests are invited to join in the traditional dances and games. There's face painting and handmade goods to buy. They also have probably the best corn you will ever eat in your life, but if you want something sweet you can buy frybread with cinnamon on top...mmmm.

Hair2

kay, so here it is! isn't this color great? what i love about Softsheen-Carson's hair colors are that they show up true to color( as long as you don't have gunk in your hair prior to washing) and my hair doesn't feel dead after i color it. plus the conditioner they put in there smells great. i honestly wish they sold it outside of the color kit. i'm such a hair care spazz that i try to milk every drop of conditioner out of that thumb sized bottle lol. by the way (i don't know if this is necessary or not) i wasn't paid to do this like i said in the previous post i went to my local beauty supply and bought it out of pocket.

Be Blessed!

Hair

kay, so this is not my first at home dye job. my first attempt was probly 2 or 3 years ago. after unsuccessfully trying to put in indigo blue highlights they came out horrid mix of green and teal. solution: color rinse my hair black blue which i ended up loving because of the failed highlights my hair ended up looking like an awesome comic book ladies. i continued to rinse my hair this color until i made the decision to go natural. now being natural and loving my texture i wanted to play with the color again. i'd had red, fuschia, and blue... what color could i dye my hair next? several months ago, i was walking through the aisles at the local beauty supply store and i fell in love with Dark and Lovely's Burgundy Blush. my skin tone was pretty close to the lady's on the box so why not give it a try.

this is was a couple of days after my first attempt. two days prior to coloring, i conditioned my hair with shea butter and that stuff really lasts...a while. i had also put in some curl cream the day before. it did not phase me that i should have washed my hair before coloring because i was just too excited to splash this new shade in my hair. so as expected my color came out patchy with certain areas being brighter or darker. i wasn't too upset though at the results because i loved the color and the tonal difference actually looked pretty cool.

my roots were in desperate need of a touch up and the rest of my hair needed a little boost as well. so here i am back to my color obsession of the moment and also once again waiting till late at night to go through the tedious process of dying my mammoth fro. at least i learned from my previous coloring mistakes and can i please pat my own back and say how awesome my hair color turned out! i'll take photos tomorrow seeing as it's late and my hair is still wet and i need quality light so the true color can show.
