Hair

kay, so this is not my first at home dye job. my first attempt was probly 2 or 3 years ago. after unsuccessfully trying to put in indigo blue highlights they came out horrid mix of green and teal. solution: color rinse my hair black blue which i ended up loving because of the failed highlights my hair ended up looking like an awesome comic book ladies. i continued to rinse my hair this color until i made the decision to go natural. now being natural and loving my texture i wanted to play with the color again. i'd had red, fuschia, and blue... what color could i dye my hair next? several months ago, i was walking through the aisles at the local beauty supply store and i fell in love with Dark and Lovely's Burgundy Blush. my skin tone was pretty close to the lady's on the box so why not give it a try.

this is was a couple of days after my first attempt. two days prior to coloring, i conditioned my hair with shea butter and that stuff really lasts...a while. i had also put in some curl cream the day before. it did not phase me that i should have washed my hair before coloring because i was just too excited to splash this new shade in my hair. so as expected my color came out patchy with certain areas being brighter or darker. i wasn't too upset though at the results because i loved the color and the tonal difference actually looked pretty cool.

my roots were in desperate need of a touch up and the rest of my hair needed a little boost as well. so here i am back to my color obsession of the moment and also once again waiting till late at night to go through the tedious process of dying my mammoth fro. at least i learned from my previous coloring mistakes and can i please pat my own back and say how awesome my hair color turned out! i'll take photos tomorrow seeing as it's late and my hair is still wet and i need quality light so the true color can show.
