Last weekend me and my mom went to the Ocmulgee Indian Celebration. Ocmulgee (aka. The Indian Mounds) is a national monument park we have in Macon no one really hears about but every year, the third weekend in September they have an Indian Celebration. Southeastern American Indian tribes come to the park to perform and give history and culture lessons. The tribes that are focused on the most are Cherokee, Choctaw, Chickasaw, Creek, and Seminole. Guests are invited to join in the traditional dances and games. There's face painting and handmade goods to buy. They also have probably the best corn you will ever eat in your life, but if you want something sweet you can buy frybread with cinnamon on top...mmmm.
